About the Accommodation

AirBNB Superhost!

This space is a delightful mix of beauty, comfort, and location. We keep an immaculate, cozy home perfectly nestled near the best Austin has to offer.

Summary: The apartment is a 1b/1b with outside porch, beautiful garden area, and comfy bed (1 queen and 1 queen futon sofa).

Walkable to many restaurants: Cipollina, Galaxy Cafe, Josephine House, Jeffery's, Cafe Medici (coffee lover's heaven), Nau's Pharmacy, as well as neighborhood parks and pools. Also close to 6th Street (for bar hoppers), 2nd Street (for shoppers), the Warehouse District (for food-o-philes), Whole Foods (their flagship store) and our beloved BookPeople (for bookworms).

Amenities: Refrigerator (small), microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, French press, electric water kettle and hot plate. No full kitchen.

Early check-in: Generally guest(s) check-out by 11am and then we need several hours to sparkle and clean the apartment. You can check-in early after 11:30am, as long as you know that the space will probably not yet be clean.

Late check-out: If no guest(s) are checking in the day you leave, then you can have a late check-out. Otherwise, we will need to start cleaning the space around 11am to be ready for the next guest(s).

Bag drop: You are always welcomed to drop you bags off early or leave them to pick up later in the day (if so contact us beforehand so that we can make arrangements).

Parking: Unfortunately, there's no dedicated parking space. The only parking is on the street (free), but usually there is plenty of space and it has not been a problem. If you have any problem just let us know.

Notes

Getting there: From the airport, a cab is the easiest. Ask the cab driver to go via S. Highway 183 and E. 7th St., which is the shortest route. It should be around $35 and take 20-30 min depending on traffic.

Parking: Unfortunately, there is no dedicated parking space. The driveway is reserved for the owner. The only parking is on the street (free), but usually there is plenty of space and it has not been a problem. If you have any problem just let me know.

Private Entrance: The door to your space is NOT the front door of the house. It is NOT the door on the back porch. IT IS THE STUDIO BEHIND AND SEPARATE FROM THE MAIN HOUSE. Follow the stone path to the right of the front porch (as you are facing the house) are take the concrete path from the bottom of the driveway to the back yard. Your private entrance is the glass door to the left of the glass-paned garage door (again it is the studio behind and separate from the main house). If you code does not work then confirm that you are at the right door!

Neighbourhood

This vacation rental gets the best of both worlds -- a taste of urban living in a quaint and historic neighborhood. Located in the center of the city and only a stone's throw from downtown's many attractions.

Transport

Getting Around: Although we recommend renting a car if you are planning on traveling outside of Austin, there are many ways of getting around central Austin:

  • Ride shares (Lyft, Uber) (few people use taxis anymore in Austin).
  • Dockless electric bikes, scooters, and mopeds (Bird, Lime, Lyft, Jump [Uber], Spin, VeoRide, Revel).
  • Austin B-cycle (bike share that uses docking stations - less popular than the dockless options).
  • CapMetro (Austin's public transportation, but it is not popular).
